Minnesota Oakdale, MN is a mid-sized town with a population of approximately 27,000 that is 11.3 square miles in size. Small lakes are prevalent, and it is easily accessible by Interstates 94 and 694 and Minnesota State Highways 5, 36, and 120. This family-oriented community has a spectacular, annual Fourth of July Firework show at Tanners Park, located at Granada Ave and 5th Street. The township of Oakdale was formed in 1858 and originally consisted of 36 square miles. This parcel was split in 1926 and 1951 to form Lake Elmo and East Oakdale, respectively. The city was incorporated in 1968, and was designated as a city in 1974.
